And my phone ringed,

My friend told me,

About a gut-wrenching thing.

My fingers on the chrome started to ran,

For that I am his one huge fan!

I was hoping for it to turn out either as a rumour or as a lie,

But Google has showed that the actor has bid world his goodbye.

I had, for a few minutes, watery-eyes.

I could only see him in the starry sky!!

He has battled with all his strength and all of his might.

He has honoured our Nation and he is our country's pride!

I wish for his people's pain to ease,

And for his soul to rest in peace!!

He has hit bull's eye in a single stroke,

He has astonished all the NSD folks!

He then chose to shine on screens, small and big,

He has surprised people with small screen's Badrinath gig!

SALAAM BOMBAY garnered him with lots of accolades and rewards,

His very first film was nominated for the prestigious ACADEMY AWARDS!

They say acting is all about eyes and what we do with those eyes in the pauses,

Well, he had the most eloquent eyes that knew how to attract both classes and masses!

The grey characters that he played in HAASIL and MAQBOOL,

Made people recognise that his acting skills are awesomely cool!

He rose to prominence with his role in PAAN SINGH TOMAR,

THE NATIONAL AWARD for this film made justice to his career!

With his performance in HAIDER, GUNDEY, PIKU and TALVAR,

He proved that he's an actors' actor and with excellence on par!

His HINDI MEDIUM in India and China became a sleeper hit,

His ANGREZI MEDIUM is the last masterpiece that we can ever get!

Him being awarded with the prestigious PADMA SREE AWARD defines it all,

He was a master of excellence and still he has considered himself, always very small!

His global works of THE NOTEBOOK, LIFE OF PI, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and JURRASIC WORLD,

Has astonished us so much and has left us awestruck and startled!

He insisted on providing entertainment but with some substance,

He always proved it right by delivering passionate acting nuance!

He has always said, "In the end, the whole thing of life becomes an act of letting go!"

People clapped with tears in their eyes,

For this beautiful soul to now shine bright in the starry night skies!!
